MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO—November 25, 2002—Thesis Chemistry Inc., a provider of innovative Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) development services to the pharmaceutical industry, has entered into an agreement with Academic Pharmaceuticals, Inc. of Lake Bluff, IL, USA. Under the agreement, Thesis Chemistry will provide chemical process development and scale-up preparations of an anti-arrhythmic drug under development at Academic Pharmaceuticals. Providing the initial development effort supports moving forward with clinical studies and commercial feasibility, Thesis Chemistry will be granted a CMC development agreement and worldwide manufacturing rights to the bulk drug substance.

"Our partnership with Academic Pharmaceuticals is an excellent example of how Thesis Chemistry can bring chemical innovation and value to our pharmaceutical customers from research to commercialization," says Dr. John R. Peterson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Thesis Chemistry. "The process to produce this anti-arrhythmic agent is still exploratory and without significant improvement the commercial potential of this life saving drug could be severely limited.
